A man appears to have been forced to lie face down in the street, while another man shouts over the loudspeaker in English, “DEA [US Drug Enforcement Administration] operation, everybody stays down!”
Bocchit Edmond, Haiti’s ambassador to the United States, said that while the attackers pretended to be US drug agents, he believed there was “no way” they were.
Officials said that cartridge cases littered the ground between the property’s gatehouse and the residence, indicating that many bullets were fired.
While shouting “DEA operation,” the gunmen tied up two members of the domestic staff. They searched Mr. Mose’s office, stealing a chequebook in the couple’s names as well as the servers containing the video camera footage from the house.
The two top security officials in charge of MrMose’s protection are being investigated and have been asked to testify in court on July 13 and 14.

So far, little information regarding the hours immediately following the incident has been disclosed.
A furious gunfight was occurring in the Pelerinneighbourhood, Haiti’s police commander declared 24 hours after MrMose’s assassination.
“As they departed the crime scene, we blocked [the suspects] on the route.” We’ve been battling them since then,” Chief Léon Charles stated, without giving a specific time frame.
The police chief also stated that authorities were able to liberate three police officers who had been kidnapped by the gunmen; he first stated that four suspects had been killed in the gunfight, but that number has since been reduced to three.
Eleven of the accused are said to have escaped to Taiwan’s diplomatic facility in Port-au-Prince.
Haitian police told Taiwanese officials that the suspects were hiding in the property early on July 8, more than 24 hours after the attack, according to Taiwanese officials.
Taiwan gave police entrance, and all 11 suspects sheltering inside were apprehended “without incident.”
Two suspects who were hiding in a ravine were caught by civilians who had joined in the search.
The body of one alleged gunman was found on the roof of a home, where he bled to death while hiding. Two more suspects were discovered dead near the president’s home.
It should be noted that the assassination of the Haitian president took place in his house two days ago.
