Part of the issue, say GPs, is that normal medication is more and more advanced. A decade in the past sufferers with arthritis, for instance, can be on painkillers. Now many are on superior disease-modifying medicine and wish their blood monitored. Phone appointments are sometimes – although not at all times – quicker to course of, leaving time for the tougher face-to-face circumstances later within the day.
