UAE sends Syria 10 ambulances to support rescue operations

The UAE has provided Syria with 10 ambulances in efforts to aid the quake-hit Syrian people, state news agency WAM reported on Saturday.

The ambulances are equipped to go off-road into rugged terrain and deliver medical services to quake-affected areas.

The UAE aims to cover some of the the basic humanitarian needs of the Syrian people, said Dr. Salem al-Falasi, who is in charge of following up on the needs of the health sector in Syria.

The UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the health sector in Syria was praised by Associate Director of the Health Department in Latakia, Dr. Samer Ahmed.

Ahmed said that the UAE’s support will ease the medical staff efforts to carry out their duties.
