A Twitter account that shared posts from former US President Donald Trump’s latest communication site has been suspended. Mr Trump’s Twitter account appeared to be tweeting “on his behalf.” Twitter suspends Trump’s account that has been put on fire by the netizens.

According to a company spokesperson, the account @DJTDesk violated the company’s ban evasion policy by posting material “associated with a suspended account.” Related accounts, however, were still involved on the social media site, according to the BBC.

Twitter says that while accounts will post content from Mr Trump’s new website, individuals will not be able to “circumvent” the ban. “Making someone else operate on your behalf, an account which represents your identity, persona, brand, or business persona for a different reason” is one of the “evasion” laws. Four accounts with identical bios were flagged by the BBC as sharing material from Mr Trump’s new website.

Twitter suspends Trump’s account but not for the first time

When asked what will happen to these accounts, Twitter did not answer. The four accounts were still active at the time of publication. One individual had also recently tweeted about evading the ban. It’s unclear who’s behind the pages, but the majority appear to be unaffiliated with the former president.

According to NBC News, Trump spokesman Jason Miller confirmed that the @DJTDesk account was not created by or with the permission of anyone connected to the former president. The Desk of Donald J Trump, Mr Trump’s latest contact channel, will host announcements and press releases from the former president. Visitors will like and share posts on their Twitter and Facebook pages, as long as the posts do not violate the sites’ laws.

Mr Trump’s new platform was revealed the day before Facebook’s independent Oversight Board upheld the social network company’s decision to suspend him, but also stated that the duration of the suspension could be reconsidered within six months.
