TikTok is blocked in Pakistan after the authorities ordered it to filter its “immoral” content. Pakistan on Friday banned video-sharing platform TikTok in the country after a “number of complaints from different segments of the society against immoral/indecent content on the video-sharing application,” the Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said in a statement.
The telecom regulator said it had issued warnings to TikTok to moderate unlawful content, but the social media company failed to comply with its instructions.

Azad Chaiwala, a famous vlogger and entrepreneur in Pakistan, criticized this act bluntly and logically. My millionaires, motivational phrase used by Azad for his followers, “I just come to know that TikTok is banned. The principle of banning is not a good thing and will not work” he said in his recent Vlog.
In Pakistani society, the act of criticizing the latest technology has always been remained controversial and suspicious. A long time ago a similar kind of criticism was observed at the time when first time loudspeaker and television were introduced. Addressing this dilemma Chaiwala elaborates that every technology has its own advantages and disadvantages. It depends on how people use this technology and how they are socially trained.
App use training
Pakistani academia and family system are largely criticized for the lack of social training. Azad is always critical on the non-practical approach of these most important social institutions. He criticized that if there are complaints about the misuse of social media apps our elders and academicians are responsible for this.

They never trained the young people about the positive use of technology. Still, we can overcome the issue by providing proper training. “If the vulgarity or immoral content is the only reason to ban TikTok, then why not the authorities also ban television, movies and especially item songs”, Chaiwala criticized.
It is important to mention here that social media Apps are not only used for entertainment purposes, but it has become an industry worth billions of dollars. These apps provide advertising and branding opportunities for young entrepreneurs. In his Vlog, Chaiwala mentioned that all his videos contain content related to skill development and entrepreneurship tips.
Most recently, Chaiwala was interviewed by top-ranked Pakistani news channels and he considers all this is the result of his positive activities on social media. He further mentioned that he is not the only one in Pakistan who is using TikTok for positive activities, there is a number of people who use this app to create and disseminate creative and positive content. He motivated his followers and suggested them to keep going “earn money and save Pakistan”.
