Missiles incoming, missiles intercepting: WATCH Russian navy practice to overwhelm air attackers with large defensive barrages

Footage filmed throughout this week’s large-scale drills of Russian air protection forces has been launched by the Defense Ministry. Russian troops skilled to defeat assaults by enemy missiles and plane.

The navy train was held on the Kapustin Yar vary within the Astrakhan area in northern Russia and concerned the long-range S-300V4 and medium-range Buk-M3 and Tor-M2 air protection programs.

Operators had been required to detect, determine and intercept over 40 observe targets, based on the ministry report. The ones that simulated ballistic missiles diving from an altitude of over 150km had been met with S-300 missile fireplace.

The shorter-range programs handled targets simulating terrain-hugging cruise missiles and formations of enemy plane, some flying as little as seven meters. One activity for the Tor groups was to destroy a gaggle of drones ‘swarming’ some 15km away from their positions, the ministry mentioned.

Over 1,000 troops and 300 items of navy {hardware} took half within the battle video games.
