SUKKUR: PPP chief and former Opposition chief within the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah, was launched from jail on Saturday after he was behind bars for greater than two years in an belongings past means case.

The  PPP stalwart was launched after an accountability courtroom verified the Supreme Court’s order for his bail — which was issued two days again.

Shah’s son had submitted bail bonds value Rs10 million on the accountability courtroom as surety towards his father’s bail. Following his launch from Sukkur Central Jail, the PPP staff accorded a heat welcome to the chief.

Shah was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Sukkur chapter on September 18, 2019.

Back in July 2021, the Sindh High Court had dismissed a petition searching for Shah’s request for bail.

Although the apex courtroom accepted Shah’s bail, it requested the anti-corruption watchdog to proceed probing the case.

Addressing social gathering staff after reaching his residence, Shah stated he was behind bars for 2 years, and it was a check for him. But regardless of incarcerating me, they might not show something, he added.

“I was thrown behind bars due to my love for the people,” he stated, including that he had no reservations towards anybody for sending him to jail.

“Conspiracies were hatched against me […] attempts were made to portray me as separate from PPP,” he added.
