J-Okay: FIRs towards college students for allegedly celebrating Pakistan’s win towards India in T20 World Cup

The Jammu and Kashmir Police registered two separate FIRs beneath numerous sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and Indian Penal Code (IPC) after movies confirmed college students of two medical faculties allegedly “celebrating Pakistan victory” within the T20 World Cup Sunday.

In the movies which went viral on social media, college students in hostels of Government Medical College (GMC) and the Shere-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar could be allegedly seen celebrating the Pakistan cricket staff’s victory.

The police is investigating the function of hostel wardens and the scholars seen within the celebratory movies. The FIRs have been lodged on the Karan Nagar and Soura police stations.
