Friends’ Actor James Michael Tyler diagnosed Cancer

Friends’ actor James Michael Tyler, who played Central Perk server, Gunther, has revealed that he is suffering from stage four prostate cancer.

His cancer is not from today
The 59-year-old said in an interview with NBC’s Today Show that he was diagnosed in September 2018 during a routine physical examination.

The actor’s cancer has now spread to his bones, and he is unable to walk. Chemotherapy is being administered to him.”You know, it’ll definitely get me eventually,” he told presenter Craig Melvin.”I was 56 years old at the time, and they screened for PSA, which is a prostate-specific antigen,” he said of his diagnosis. That resulted in an extremely high figure… so I knew right away when I got online and read the results of my blood test and blood work that something wasn’t quite right.

‘Hey, I need you to come in tomorrow because I fear you may have a significant problem with your prostate,’ my doctor called me almost immediately. He stated that cancer had migrated to his bones when he missed another test during the epidemic and that he is now in stage four. “It’s late-stage cancer,” he said. “So, you know, it’ll definitely get me at some point.”\

He used the occasion to encourage other men to go to their next doctor’s appointment and get themselves looked out. “If males get it before me, there are alternative solutions accessible to them,” he remarked.

‘It’s a pleasure to work with you.’
Gunther was and continues to be a popular figure among Friends fans, despite not having as much screen time as the other six main characters.

Gunther served as a waiter and manager at Central Perk throughout the series and had a crush on Jennifer Anniston’s character Rachel, who also worked there as a server in the early seasons of the program. Last month, he made a brief appearance via Zoom on the Friends reunion special. He remarked of the show, “Honestly, it was the most memorable 10 years of my life.”

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. All of these gentlemen were outstanding and a pleasure to work with. It had a very particular feel to it.He explained why he didn’t announce his condition during the reunion: ‘Oh, and by the way, Gunther has cancer,’ I didn’t want it to be like that.

He went on to say that the rest of the cast was aware of his illness. “David Schwimmer [who played Ross] has communicated with me via Instagram, and the producers are aware, as they have been for quite some time.”

Friends’ actor James Micheal Tyler was a fan favorite because of his deadpan delivery and appeared on the show for the whole 10-year run. In 2012, he appeared in an episode of the BBC sitcom Episodes alongside his Friends co-star Matt LeBlanc, playing an ice hockey coach.

The Disturbance at Dinner, Foreign Correspondents, Motel Blue, and Jason’s Big Problem are among his cinematic credits. As they interviewed Tyler, the Today show showed photographs of his home life, featuring him in a wheelchair, and the actor became emotional as he spoke.

“I would have listened to my amazing wife – who has been my greatest strength throughout all of this,” Tyler said when asked if there was anything he would do differently. I would have gone in earlier, and hopefully, it would have been caught sooner.
