57 PIA planes hit by birds first 11 months of 2022: report

KARACHI: At least 57 Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) planes had been hit by birds within the first 11 months of 2022, ARY News reported. 

According to particulars, PIA has issued a report relating to plane hit by birds in 2022 to date.

According to the report, 53 bird-hit incidents had been reported from January to October and in November 4 incidents had been registered. The majority of the incidents had been reported on the Lahore International airport.

The report added 5 out of the 57 PIA planes had been broken by hen collisions in 2022, whereas in 59 incidents, the planes remained protected from large injury.

Furthermore, 21 PIA planes had been hit by the birds whereas touchdown, 12 throughout approach and eight had been hit throughout take-off.

The incidents have induced the lack of thousands and thousands of {dollars} to the PIA.


Separately, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft flight from Sukkur to Islamabad made an emergency touchdown at Islamabad International airport after warning of fireplace in considered one of its engines.

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson, the PIA ATR flight, with 54 passengers on board, was en path to Islamabad from Sukkur when the pilot of the flight was cautioned by the sign of fireplace in considered one of its engines.

The pilot gave a mayday name at a distance of two nautical miles from the airport. The pilot of the aircraft efficiently landed the flight on the 2241 runway.
